MARTINEZ FAMILY
"I am a nursing student at CNM, a mother of four and I am also the caregiver and wife to my 40 year old husband who is very ill. My children vary in ages of 18, 12, 3, and 17 months.
The last couple of years my husband’s health has not been good. He is a type 2 diabetic and has suffered many complications that come with having diabetes. In mid-December of 2011 he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and was hospitalized. His illness resulted in him is losing his job. We could not pay our rent and we were told we had to vacate our home on January 13th, 2012.
With nowhere to go and no money I turned to HCH (Healthcare for the Homeless). They connected me with COAST and Pay It Forward NM. PIFNM immediately put us in a hotel for a week until we could find a home. PIFNM took care of the deposit and first month’s rent. They also provided food for us. My family and I are very thankful to PIFNM, more thankful than I can begin to express in words. We appreciate everything PIFNM has done for our family. May God bless you all."
LARRY
"A year ago took life one of those nose dives that life sometimes takes. Back to back I lost my job and my spouse of twenty years. My wife deserted my daughter and I; she left Michelle with nothing but the clothes on her back. Mom’s departure cut our income in half, and in short order we were homeless and staying in Joy Junction. The Lord didn’t allow us to languish there long.
He brought my daughter and I together with PIFNM by one of those amazing coincidences of His. PIFNM bought Michelle new shoes and clothes. PIFNM bought me new boots, PIFNM has been most helpful in assisting me getting my CDL back (I let it lapse in 2008) opening up more potential employment opportunities. Best of all, since there’s no drugs or alcohol or domestic abuse involved, PIFNM got us out of Joy Junction and put us up at Inntown Suites until I can afford our own place.

"I am writing this letter to thank you for helping my husband and I, during a time of financial hardship. It seemed everything was piling up financially, and all I could do was hope and pray that God would make a way for us, to keep us in our home. Your organization, Pay it Forward New Mexico, came to our rescue, which surely was a miracle in our time of need!
I pray the Lord will continue to bless your hands and the heart that your organization has for this community, for those that are distressed and heartbroken, in these economic hard time. i am also thankful for those, individually and corporately, that have and will continue to step forward financially and prayerfully, in support of your organization, which I believe have been founded on hearts that care for others in need. I am deeply grateful for your hands and words of encouragement that have reached out to use, in our time of need!"

RICK STAMBAUGH
I wanted to write to thank & pay tribute to Pay It Forward New Mexico. My name is Rick Stambaugh and I've been in retail management & customer service in one form or another for roughly 22 years since retiring from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service. Due to numerous health issues, two heart attacks, several strokes in addition to painful spine & hip problems, just to mention a few, last December I was forced into resigning my position as a retail store manager due to those deteriorating conditions. I could just no longer continue 24/7/365 working conditions. My hope was to apply for disability and to find a part time job my physical condition would tolerate. While still in the disability application process, we were living on what little retirement funds I had been able to accumulate over recent years in addition to my limited Navy retirement & my precious wife Sandy's income. Despite my age & health, I was able to attain a part time position I had difficulty physically performing, but I did manage through it and things were fair.No sooner did I start that position, I was again hospitalized with yet another stroke. During this hospitalization, it was discovered I also had developed advanced stage IV cancer in my right lung which had already spread extensively through my lymph system. Due to the severity of my condition, the doctors rushed me through all the testing & surgical preparations necessary to get me started on chemo & radiation treatments in just over a week, thus I had to again resign my position.Shortly thereafter, a very wonderful young lady, Christina Jimenez, who attends our church with us came forward and stated that she worked for another wonderful young lady, Sharon Pedroncelli, who operated a local not-for-profit who could possibly help us if things got too bad.A short couple weeks later, the small retirement package I had built ran out and here I was literally without any income other than my modest Navy retirement. With help from family members in Dallas TX we were actually able to come up with enough funds to cover all our bills but literally left us without a single cent to purchase food for ourselves, our daughter & two lovely grandchildren who live with us.One bright sunny & Godly Sunday afternoon, I was sitting at home waiting for my family to return from church, (I was just too weak to go this particular day), and I couldn't believe what happened. Christina had approached Sharon and decided to take Sandy to the grocery store with funds provided by Pay It Forward and Christina actually even went shopping with her and the kids following church services. My wife came home with enough groceries to feed the entire family for weeks to come. We had prayed & prayed over this and the Lord took care of it through these two wonderful young ladies and this outstanding and Godly organization. I literally sat in the yard, enjoying the clouds floating overhead and cried for an hour!!!We would have never been able to manage without their gracious help and I can not possibly thank them enough!!! I highly encourage anyone with the ability to help fund this fantastic organization to do so. As witnessed by myself and many others, the funds provided to this outfit are obviously used for very Godly purposes!!! We could not have made it without them.
